Where Healing Begins

Since completing all 365 lessons of the Workbook of A Course in Miracles, Lisa and I decided to continue on and study The Manual For Teachers, which not only discusses, for example, Who Are God’s Teachers? and What Are The Levels Of Teaching?, just to name a few of the sections, but The Course‘s Manual For Teachers also goes into Healing!

senecahealthHaving been a professional healer for over fifteen years now, much of what we have been reading and studying in these sections on healing have resonated harmoniously with me, especially the understanding that no matter what I, another healer, or anyone does, healing will not take place if the one who is unwell is not open, not willing, or does not want or think they need healing (and this can come down to someone being lost in illusions of why they are unwell too). In the section: Is Healing Certain? it states:

Healing will always stand aside when it would be seen as threat. The instant it is welcome it is there. Where healing has been given it will be received.

Just as it is important for the one in need of healing to be open to receive, it is just as important for the healer to be in and of a state of Love in order to assist in, to give, the healing. In the receiving is the giving. See Post: The True Miracle: Giving

It is not the function of God’s teachers [healers] to evaluate the outcome of their gifts. It is merely their function to give them…No one can give if he is concerned with the result of giving…Trust is an essential part of giving.

The Manual For Teachers also goes into pointing out that forgiveness both for oneself and for others is key to healing. Forgiveness allows us to let Love, Gratitude, and Peace into our being and into our lives. Forgiveness is Love, and as similarly taught in Tibetan Buddhist Medicine, Love is the ultimate antidote for all disease and suffering. From How Are Healing And Atonement Related?:

To forgive is to heal…That forgiveness is healing needs to be understood, if the teacher [healer] of God is to make progress. The idea that a body can be sick is a central concept in the ego’s thought system…A sick person perceives himself as separate from God. It is your forgiveness that must show him [he is not separate]. Healing is very simple.

Healing is very simple, but the ego-mind likes to complicate things. May we all embrace Love for ourselves and others by forgiving, releasing, and having gratitude. I thank you all for stopping by, and sending you my love for a joyous and peaceful Thanksgiving Holiday!
